The Annual Placer County Ag Tour takes place June 4, 2014 and is organized by the Placer Resource Conservation District and funded primarily by the Placer County Board of Supervisors.
The goal is provide an opporltunity for elected officials, government staff, and the public to learn about agriculture in Placer County. Every year a new theme is picked to highlight a different aspect of Placer’s diverse farming and ranching community. This year participants will learn about the water supply systems in Placer County, as well as how farmers manage and conserve water, especially in a drought year like 2014.
Tour stops will include PCWA’s American River Pump Station, Oak Hill Ranch grazed by Flying Mule Farm, and Highland Orchards. Lunch will be served at the last stop, and the buses will return to PCWA no later than 2:30 p.m. As in previous years, there is no cost for this tour.
