Placer County will receive slightly more than $120 million in state bond money to fix two of the region’s biggest traffic headaches.
On March 1, 2007, the California Transportation Commission adopted a $4.5 billion project list that includes $73.7 million for the Lincoln Bypass and $46.3 million toward fixing the infamous Interstate 80 bottleneck in Roseville.
The $270 million Lincoln Bypass is an 11.7-mile, four-lane route to ease traffic along Highway 65 by diverting commuters and truckers around downtown Lincoln.
Funding for the $210 million “bottleneck” project will be used to add east and westbound diamond lands on I-80 from the Sacramento County line to the Highway 65 bypass.
