Granite Bay, Calif. – San Juan Water District’s retail service area customers reduced their March water use by nearly 50 percent compared to March 2013.

“We are very proud of our customers,” said Shauna Lorance, general manager. “They used the prolonged rain showers and storms to their advantage by turning off their irrigation systems and letting nature irrigate their landscapes.”
San Juan Water District has developed programs and other communication strategies to help customers continue to use water efficiently. Some programs available include rebates, landscape irrigation reviews, leak detection assistance and WaterSmart, a free water use tracker where customers can log in to explore their water use. San Juan actively sends email alerts and hosts Telephone Town Halls for customers to share information about current water conditions and provide opportunities to ask questions.
