Rocklin, Calif.- Airsoft players in the Sacramento area now have a new indoor field to play at that is up close and personal.

Airsoft Battlegrounds, owned by Austin Jansma and Alex Potepalov,  will provide a supervised playing field full of obstacles, mazes, wood palettes, and even a SWAT van, for both new and experienced airsoft players. It is the only indoor field in the area, offering a unique experience that is not available at outdoor fields. “I tell everyone that they have to play,” field referee Andy Schuetz said. “It is such an adrenalin rush and a good way to get out your frustration while having tons of fun.” Just 5 minutes from the Roseville/Rocklin area and 20 minutes from Sacramento, games will be held 6 days a week all year long.

The field is located at 3735 Cincinnati Ave, Suite 400, in Rocklin, CA. It is off of Highway 65 on the intersection of Sunset Blvd. and Cincinnati Ave.

In the game of airsoft, players team up and use military tactics-even though the majority of players have never been in the military-to try and eliminate either everyone on the other team, defend a territory from a threat, or capture a flag and take control of it. Players actually get shot with plastic BB’s from battery-powered electric air guns that can leave small welts. Protective gear is worn at all times to prevent injury. “Wounded” players either have to call a medic or go to a “rebirth” point so they can return to the action.

“It’s grown men playing a kid’s game. It’s army – everyone played army growing up,” Lincoln resident Tom Borchers, 43, said. “You’re looking at realistic-looking weapons, realistic tactics, and it’s really just a bunch of guys getting together and having a good time.”

The indoor field offers rental equipment for players that do not have their own. Private parties and large groups can be accommodated, as well as single players. The field is also open for military and law enforcement training during the weekdays with advanced notice. Airsoft Battlegrounds will hold weekend tournaments in the upcoming months.
