At 6:23 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, Roseville police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Harding Boulevard at Douglas Boulevard. The pedestrian, a Roseville resident in his mid-fifties, was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
According to the investigation so far, the pedestrian was crossing Harding Boulevard when a 2001 Ford Focus driven by a 56-year old Carmichael man made a right turn from westbound Douglas Boulevard onto northbound Harding Boulevard, and struck the pedestrian. There were no obvious indications of alcohol use, and no arrests were made or citations issued.
A short segment of Harding Boulevard north of Douglas Boulevard was closed for approximately five and a half hours while traffic investigators examined the scene.
The collision is being investigated by the Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
