The 17th Annual Signature Luncheon promoting awareness for Child Abuse Prevention will be hosted by retired PCWA General Manager David Breninger and his wife Linda.ย
Dave retired on March 6, 2015 after a 23 year career and nearly 48 years in public administration.ย Linda is no stranger to youth serving 34 years in public school administration.ย Dave and Linda continue to host “Old Radio Theatre” on KVMR 89.5 which began in 1985.ย Both are active in the community.ย Dave serves the community through Rotary while Linda has volunteered as a Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplain.ย KidsFirst is honored to have Dave and Linda emceeing this great community event.
KidsFirst’s Signature Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Timber Creek Ballroom, 7050 Del Webb Boulevard, Roseville, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. KidsFirst, the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County, holds this event April as child abuse prevention month to promote awareness about child abuse and its prevention. Blue has been designated to signify child abuse prevention nationally.ย We are asking attendees to wear their best blues in honor of child abuse prevention month.
The event guest speaker will be Jaiya John.
Jaiya is an internationally acclaimed keynote speaker, who has shared his inspired message to over a quarter of a million worldwide. He is an author, poet and speaks professionally to students and those who serve youth. KidsFirst is a non-profit organization established in 1989 dedicated to the prevention and healing of child abuse and neglect. KidsFirst provides an array of programs and victim services that prevent and treat abuse. In this role, KidsFirst educates professionals, government officials and lay persons regarding child abuse and neglect and its prevention. KidsFirst works closely with other community-based organizations and county agencies to ensure non-duplicative, effective service delivery to meet the needs of children, families and individuals in the community.
Providing an integrated system of safety net programs and services to children and their families, KidsFirst operates Family Resource Centers in Auburn and Roseville. Services include child and family counseling, parent education, youth groups, after-school programs, information and referrals to low/no-cost resources throughout the Sacramento Region.
