Auburn, CA- Chapa-De Indian Health will provide free dental screenings for four days at Rock Creek Elementary School in Auburn, CA from Monday, October 3 to Thursday, October 6. Screenings will take place throughout the school day for registered students.
Chapa-De Dental Staff will be conducting the free dental screenings, a service that is much needed in the community. An estimated 500 children will receive free dental services that include a visual examination of their teeth and mouth with a follow up notice given to parents and guardians for those that will need further care.
Representatives will also be present to educate children on new techniques and tricks to encourage proper care for their teeth and gums that include brushing and flossing. The free dental screenings Chapa-De is providing, is an innovative step towards integrating health education into the daily lives of these students.
Staff members from the Chapa-De Diabetes Department will also be on site to speak with students and share advice on how to eat healthy and get active. Additionally, families are invited to learn more about the health services available at Chapa-De.
