Roseville, CA- Yesterday morning, Roseville officers and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department deputies worked together to arrest three men suspected of stealing from numerous vehicles in west Roseville.
On Tuesday morning (May 24), Sacramento Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man for possessing stolen property originally taken from Roseville. SSD notified Roseville PD for more investigation. From there, Roseville VNET detectives worked with Sacramento Sheriff’s North Sacramento POP deputies to locate and arrest two more suspects.
The three men are suspected of driving around west Roseville neighborhoods early Tuesday morning, breaking into vehicles and rummaging through unlocked vehicles. Detectives have connected the suspects to six thefts so far, and are investigating to determine if they were involved in several more overnight thefts from vehicles reported in the Quail Glen, Blue Oaks and Fiddyment Farm neighborhoods.
Kevin Patrick McFarland, age 36 of Auburn, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy, and a Placer County warrant for possession of narcotics, burglar’s tools and other related charges. Maksim Mishchenko, age 24 of Antelope, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and conspiracy. Stanislav M. Taran, age 23 of Sacramento, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy, and a Sacramento County warrant for burglary. All three were booked into the Placer County Jail.
One suspect commented that he steals from Roseville neighborhoods because “they have nice things, and they leave their doors unlocked.” We’ve heard that several times before, and we hope our residents will take it as a personal challenge to “stop feeding the thieves”. Always lock your doors, and never leave property in your vehicles.
