The driver, 29 year oldย Luke Longstreet of Granite Bay, was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle revealed narcotics, stolen mail, stolen checks, and significant evidence of identity theft.  Additionally, located inside the vehicle and hotel room rented by Longstreet were blank checks, laser printers, and check printing software, items commonly used in identity theft.  At the time of this report, numerous victims have been identified and a lengthy follow up investigation is under way by RATTF detectives to locate additional victims.

The Regional Auto-Theft Taskforce wants to remind citizens that this type of crime is a cautious reminder to residents to use a secure, locked mailbox when possible and to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
