Roseville, Calif. – At 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, the Roseville Police and Fire Departments responded to a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle on Dawnridge Road at Vernon Street. The motorcyclist, Douglas Stuart Haff Brown, 19 years old, of Carmichael, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brown, who was operating a 2003 Honda motorcycle, was riding west on Dawnridge Road when he apparently ran the stop sign and broadsided a 1998 Dodge Caravan minivan that was proceeding north on Vernon Street. The occupants of the van, a Roseville woman and a female juvenile, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital, treated and released.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and it does not appear that alcohol was a factor in the collision.
The collision is under investigation by the Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
