Tickets on sale for “The Long Goodbye Tour”
RENO, Nev.- Rock icons Deep Purple will take the stage at Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) on Friday, Sept. 13. The legendary group will bring “The Long Goodbye Tour” to Reno’s acclaimed Grand Theatre at 9 p.m., when they will perform songs from their six-decade-long career.
“Unlike many musical peers, Deep Purple still performs at a remarkably high and intense level. Nothing short of impressive and terrific fun for fans.”
Roseville Today Music Editors
One of the hardest working bands in rock music, Deep Purple have toured globally since their formation in 1968. Their impressive catalogue of hits includes “Smoke on the Water,” “Highway Star,” “Hush,” and many, many more. Since 1996 alone, they have released six studio albums including “Purpendicular,” “Abandon,” “Bananas,” and, most recently, “Infinite” in 2017.
Deep Purple have sold more than 100 million albums and were named by the British radio station Planet Rock as the fifth most influential band ever. VH1 ranked Deep Purple #22 on its Greatest Artists of Hard Rock list. In 2008, the band received the Legend Award at the 2008 World Music Awards. In 2016, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Deep Purple’s lineup includes Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey, who have spent decades pioneering and defining the hard rock genre, while also moving into new areas to keep their sound fresh and attract new fans to their existing legion of loyal followers.
