Festival on the Napa River with FREE Parking and Ferry Service from San Francisco
Vallejo, Calif.- – The 2023 Mare Island Dock of Bay Festival, produced by Frazier Trager Presents, returns as an expanded 2-day event on Saturday September 9th, and Sunday September 10th, located at 850 Nimitz Ave on the beautiful Mare Island waterfront in Vallejo, CA. Gates open at 12:30pm and the music runs from 1:30 – 9:30pm each day.
What began as a single-day waterfront music event, the festival has grown to two full days of incredible music, great food in the Chef de Cuisine food court, paired with regional wines, microbrews and specialty cocktails, complete with waterfront views along the entire festival grounds.
Mare Island Waterfront
“Due to the festival’s growing popularity, we are very pleased to be offering two full days of great music along the Mare Island Waterfront,” stated Kevin Frazier. “As we head into our third year, we are excited about all the upgrades we’ve implemented for this year’s festival…it’s shaping up to be a great experience to match the incredible lineup we’ve put together!”
The two-day lineup offers an opening day lineup of old school music from legendary bands, as well as a day of chart topping R&B, soul, blues and roots music on day two.
The complete lineup includes:
Day 1 – Saturday, September 9th – Old School Funk Fest:
Morris Day and the Time – A mix of soul and funky dance music with hits “The Bird, “Jungle Love”, “Cool”, and more
Con Funk Shun – Vallejo-born American R&B and funk band with eleven chart-topping albums and numerous hit singles
Average White Band – Scottish funk and R&B band best known for their million-selling track “Pick Up the Pieces”
Cold Blood with Lydia Pense – R&B horn funk band originally based in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area
Day 2 – Sunday, September 10th – Spectacular Soul Fest:
The California Honeydrops – Northern California favorite crossing genres from roots and blues to R&B and soul
Fantastic Negrito – 3x GRAMMY Winner 2017, 2018, 2021, (Nominated 2023) – Blues, Soul, R&B, and Roots music
Monophonics – Super popular bay area psychedelic soul band based in San Francisco
The Alton’s – Los Angeles based soul rock group with a twist of Latin inspired flavors and rhythms
Attendees can bring portable seating for the general admission areas or enjoy an upgraded experience in the VIP Festival lounges with specialty bars, whiskey and wine tastings, culinary treats, access to inside restrooms, and waterfront seating near the stage. There will also be tables and chairs in the food court area by the Chef de Cuisine stage, inside the beer garden, and along the waterfront for all to share. The Main Stage will have a large video wall, state of the art lighting, and plenty of high tech to support the amazing bands that will be performing this year.
Tickets & Pricing
Daily tickets are $95 GA / $150 VIP/ $250 Premium VIP and all include FREE PARKING, a convenient rarity in the festival industry.
San Francisco and greater Bay Area attendees have the option to take the SF Bay Ferry to and from the festival this year. On the ferry, attendees can start their party early with cocktail service, or enjoy a nice cappuccino on the upper deck taking in beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay while traveling safely and comfortably to and from the music festival. The Dock of Bay festival is literally next door to the Mare Island Bay Ferry Terminal for a super easy travel day to and from the festival.
Both days are expected to sell out, so it is recommended to purchase tickets early.
