Shucks, and a Wines of Tuscany Guided Tasting at La Balena.

Culinary Destination

“Carmel Culinary Week continues to put Carmel on the map as a notable culinary destination with a one-of-a-kind food and beverage portfolio,” said Amy Herzog, executive director of Visit Carmel. “Carmel-by-the-Sea’s culinary growth has been instrumental in what makes this town so unique and we look forward to welcoming guests to experience all the epicurean accolades Carmel has to offer.”

With no chains or franchises, Carmel-by-the-Sea is truly a one-of-a-kind culinary destination, filled with local support and loyalty. In the fall of 2022, six new innovative restaurants debuted in the village, growing the number of existing eateries to 60. With an estimated population of less than 4,000, Carmel-by-the-Sea boasts more restaurants per capita than any other small city in the United States. The seaside town’s restaurant scene offers diverse options for various experiences, from Michelin-rated chefs to al fresco dining options to dog-friendly menus for all to enjoy.
