Big Trucks Summer

July 24, 2019 @ 9:30 am 11:00 am

Roseville Big Trucks

Keep on truckin’ with Big Trucks Summer! Sit behind the wheel of our big utility trucks and imagine what it would be like to provide reliable utility services to the City of Roseville. We’ll be rolling out our utility trucks on Wednesday mornings in July (July 10 – 31) for a morning of truck demonstrations and exploration, storytime, games and activities. Join us for some free family fun!

Each free Big Trucks Summer event will be kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with a Roseville Library storytime themed to the particular trucks and utility featured that week. From 10 to 11 a.m., our utility workers will display their trucks, demonstrate what they do, then open them up for kids to climb in and explore. In addition to enjoying the trucks, visitors will have an opportunity to meet utility employees and learn about utility services and programs. The Utility Exploration Center will provide fun and games to help kids learn more about waste reduction, recycling, how to save water and energy and what Roseville’s Utilities do to improve the city every day.

Visit www.roseville.ca.us/familyfun or call (916) 746-1550 to learn more about this free family event.

Big Trucks Summer Schedule:

Child on truck

At Roseville Utility Exploration Center/Mahany Park, 1501 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville

July 24 – Pipescope and Vactor Trucks: Blast that clog! How does our Wastewater crew keep our sewer pipes running smoothly? They use high tech equipment to monitor what’s going on under the ground and bring out the vactor truck when they need to clear a blockage. Can you hit the spinning target with their water gun?

July 31 – Electric Line Trucks: Hello up there! Watch our award-winning linemen climb up, up and up on that pole! How high will they go? Use their tools and equipment to see what it’s like to fix the line yourself. Experience what happens when a Mylar balloon gets tangled in the power lines. It’s a shocker!
