A recent survey conducted by the PulteGroup finds consumers are more optimistic about buying a home. The survey found 67 percent of people say they plan on purchasing a home and of those, 32 percent are looking to buy in the next two years.
For the first time in years there is a growing sense of optimism about how the housing market is improving and the positive changes are sustainable.
Other findings include 57 percent saying now is a good to excellent time to purchase items they want or need with 21 percent of respondents saying they would move up their home buying timeline if they were able to sell their current home at a higher price point or break their lease without penalty.
Over 70 percent of home shoppers plan to spend more or as much on their next home and 64 percent prefer to spend more on a home that is move-in ready rather than spend less and renovate.
The findings in this survey are supported by what we are seeing in the Sacramento housing market. For the first time in years we are dealing with clients who want to sell their current home and buy a bigger house or move to a more desirable neighborhood. Our current clients are optimistic about the housing market and feel this is the right time to make a move they have been putting off for a long time.
